Flash Point Testing of Transformer Insulating Oil is a laboratory method used to determine the lowest temperature at which oil vapors ignite momentarily when exposed to a test flame under controlled conditions.
The test is conducted as per IS 1448 [P:21]:2019 / ISO 2719:2016 using the Pensky Martens Closed Cup apparatus.
Flash point is a critical safety parameter for transformer mineral oil. A reduced flash point may indicate contamination with volatile substances or oil degradation, which increases fire risk in electrical installations.
Laboratory Flash Point Testing helps industries ensure oil safety, detect contamination, and comply with fire safety standards. It is an essential preventive maintenance and safety assessment test
India's premier electrical testing services provider, with 25 years of domain expertise, is all set to participate in the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026. Scheduled from 19-22 March at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, this exhibition brings together the who's who of the power sector. Oorja Technical will be stationed at Booth 1M68, ready to engage with industry professionals, discuss technical challenges, and share practical solutions derived from decades of field experience.
